This package is perfect for couples, female/male friends wanting a great outdoor adventure, families, social club members, companies, local and International tourists.
Friday: Arrive at the Lodge mid-morning (no breakfast on day 1) or in the late afternoon. You will check in and the rest of the day will be at your leisure to relax at the poolside with your favourite drink
Saturday: After a delicious breakfast (for those staying at Matlapa lodge, those at Nullabor will cater for themselves) a wildlife adventure awaits you at the Rhino and Lion Park. You may begin your tour at the Wonder Caves, the caves offer a spectacular adventure of stalactite and stalagmite formations. After exploring the Caves you may proceed to the Lion camp where you will witness a live feeding of Lions, Cheetah and wild dogs. From here take a drive in the park spotting Rhino and other animals traveling towards the Visitor Centre. At the visitor's centre you will get to experience an amazing snake show and display, you will also be able to touch, feed and take pictures with predators and their cubs as well as a visit to the reptile Park. The centre restaurants offer a wide variety of lunch menus to choose from. There is also an expansive picnic area where you can braai meat and enjoy leisure time in the swimming pool.
From the visitor centre you may drive through the park towards the gate viewing more wildlife. At the gate you will safely park your vehicle and proceed to walk accross the road to the breeding centre where you will get to see a wide variety of Lion, Cheetah, Leopard and Hippo in an adrenaline thumping wildlife adventure.
After the adventure you say goodbye to the wildlife and travel back to the Lodge where the rest of the day will be at leisure.
Sunday: After breakfast you will check out of the lodge asthis is the final day of yourweekend. On this last day you get to visit Maropeng, an interactive museum showcasing the origins of humanity. Maropeng is a Setswana phrase meaning "Return to the place of origin'. You will be enthralled with mini boat rides exploring lost worlds, depictions of human origins presented in the most interesting way.
From here you may proceed to the Sterkfontein Caves. Very important archeological finds on the origins of humanity were made here earning this location an iconic reputation as being the 'cradle of mankind' and declared a UNESCO world heritage site . You will get to explore the caves and learn interesting history on the origins of humanity.
From here you will head home after an amazing Magalies weekend break.

This is a self-drive itinerary for individuals and groups.
For groups that need transport, we provide any capacity vehicle fit for the size of the group upon request.
Important about this tour
Bookings:
Bookings and other enquiries can be made by sending an e-mail to info@travelaffordable.co.za or through filling out the form on our bookings page. A 50% deposit confirms and secures your booking. Upon booking request, an invoice will be sent to you for payment of deposit. Once your booking is confirmed, a confirmation letter will be sent to you. The payment balance, is to be made at least 7 days prior to date of travel.
Payments:
Payments can be made in our SA BUDGET TOURS/TRAVEL AFFORDABLE paypal account or directly into our First National Bank cheque account. Banking details will be provided on the proforma invoice sent to you. Proof of payment to be e-mailed to info@travelaffordable.co.za
Accommodation:
Accommodation is on a per person sharing basis in a chalet or cottage room type accommodation. Other accommodation types are Chalets (4 sleepers) or (6 sleepers) and Garden or Hotel Suites all of which will be quoted upon request should you need such.
Meals:
Breakfast will be provided on a daily basis (only at Matlapa Lodge). Breakfast will not be served on arrival day.
Entrance fees:
Entrance fees to the Rhino and Lion Park, Sterkfontein Caves and Maropeng are included in this package.Entrance fees to the Wonder Caves, cub feeding and photo opportunities at Rhino and Lion Park are not covered in this package and will thus be for the traveler's account.
Transport:
This is a self drive package, travelers will make use of their own transport to get themselves to and from the destination as well as throughout the tour.

By completing the below booking request form or contacting us for a quote you agree to complying with our booking terms and conditions as well as cancellation policies of our organisation and those of our service providers. You do acknowledge before making any bookings with us that we have a variety of accommodation providers which may be refererd to as 'the hotel' in our legal documents, this term may mean an accommodation provider or discount agent or it may also mean the physical hotel itself. These are the service providers that make sure to negotiate on our behalf in getting you the best deals so they work extra hard for our clients to get to keep our prices lower than any other agent. These providers have their own cancellation terms which are communicated to you upon receiving your intention to cancel a standing booking that you have with Travel Affordable. You do acknowledge of our cancellation policy that: 1. Travel Affordable Pty Ltd Has a legal right to amend the cancellation policy and terms in mitigating the effects of any situation that may arise which Travel Affordable has no control over. 2. That the cancellation policy has a refund window in which refunds are paid on the 5th of the month, this means that a cancellation that comes before the 5th will be paid on the 5th of the following month. A cancellation that comes a day after the 5th of the month is paid on the 5th of the consecutive month meaning if the request came on 6th January or later, the refund would be paid on 05 March which will be the refund payment window following the next one which caters for requests that came before the 5th of the month. Cancellation refunds will be paid in 4 instalments starting with the first instalment on the day of the refund payment then from then on will be paid on the 5th of each of the following 4 months until all refund amounts due have been paid.
